Situation
Not far from the coast to the northeast of Port-Gentil, the Hyembe exploration area encompasses three former concessions - Azobe, Pingouin and D5. The oil rights relating to the exloration area of Hyembe are now 100% held by PetroPlus Overseas Group after signing the Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (EPSA) with the Republic of Gabon.
News
After gathering existing data on the area, PetroPlus Overseas Group launched technical studies in January 2013. Five oil discoveries were made on the block and feasibility studies have confirmed the commerciality of the "Capitaine" development, lumping together the "Assala" and the "Pingouin" discoveries both tested at 1'600 bopd. THe first phase of development is planned for 2015.
